Search for spooky and sweet surprises at Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly

Guests can participate in two separate scavenger hunts for a chance to win a LEGO prize.

We’re on the lookout for little detectives to help us uncover secret messages during Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly, happening only at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.  Each weekend in October and on Halloween, guests can participate in two separate scavenger hunts.  To get started, head to the LEGO® Studio Store in Fun Town, pick up an entry form and let the adventure begin!

Sweet treats with letters come together to unveil a hidden message.

On the LEGO Sweet Treat Scavenger Hunt, near the Wells Fargo Fun Town Theater, kids can decode the mystery phrase by finding the lettered candy made out of LEGO bricks.

The fun continues in MINILAND USA on the LEGO Skeleton Scavenger Hunt, which will lead visitors on a haunted search.  During this activity, we need little ghouls and goblins to help us find the skeleton’s scattered bones to reveal the secret message.

When the submission form is complete, don’t forget to turn it in at the LEGO Studio Store for a chance to win a LEGO prize.  With just two Brick or Treat weekends left, now’s the perfect time to visit.  Best of all, everything is included with park admission!

Don’t miss the Vampyre Hearse and our creepy crawly fireworks during this weekend’s Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly

Brick fans had a blast helping us kick off the first weekend of Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly, the popular annual Halloween party here at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.  Here are some insider tips for first-timers and regulars alike as we head into weekend No. 2:

Vampyre Hearse

The Vampyre Hearse is a must-stop selfie spot. Check out its new surprises during Brick or Treat!

Last year, we unveiled a 13-foot-long “Vampyre Hearse” created with more than 280,000 LEGO® and DUPLO® bricks.  This year, the hot-rod hearse is back with a couple of new tricks outside the Market Restaurant.  For the first time, the giant model will come alive with spooky sounds, flashing lights and bursts of fog. It’s one photo opportunity you don’t want to miss.

Cap off the night at 8 p.m. as you sit back and cast your eyes skyward for a spectacular, brick-tacular fireworks display over Lake Eloise set to a creepy crawly spider theme.  These are no ordinary fireworks — they light up the night with a special LEGO twist!  Be sure to pick up a free pair of special viewing glasses starting at 7 p.m. in Pirates’ Cove.

‘Our whole family had a blast!’

Mike, Cameron, Faith and Melissa Allen pose with a giant, brick-built model of LEGO NINJAGO® star Kai outside the site of the new LEGO NINJAGO World theme park land opening in early 2017.

Last week, the Allen family from Michigan enjoyed their Grand Prize from the #BrickOrTreatContest we sponsored with HLN’s “Morning Express with Robin Meade” cable news show several months ago. Making their second visit to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, dad Mike, mom Melissa, 12-year-old Cameron and 11-year-old Faith got to enjoy all the new fun added since their last trip, including the all-new LEGOLAND Hotel.

Here’s what Cameron had to say about it:

Our whole family had a blast at LEGOLAND Florida Resort! From the moment we stepped off the plane and saw a chauffeur with our name on an iPad, we had a lot of fun. The hotel was awesome!!  The rooms were so detailed and cool! We were in a Kingdoms room, and there was a bag of LEGO® items just waiting on the bed for us! We also got to open a treasure chest in the room with more LEGO surprises!

We were able to meet with the Master Model Builders and WOW, that was so cool to see how things are put together for the park and how they store all of the LEGO pieces.

LEGO prizes

Faith and Cameron were delighted to find a bag filled with LEGO items waiting for them in their hotel room, part of the #BrickOrTreatContest Grand Prize.

There was a LEGO building contest the first night there (which I actually ended up winning) and we met some new friends from Flushing, Mich., and hung out with them all night and then went to the water park with them the next day. The first slides Fischer, Holden, Faith and I went on were the Splash Out and they were a blast!

Project X

Cameron, left, called Project X in the LEGO Technic area his favorite among the park’s themed roller coasters.

“The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” was also really cool — there was a lot of water being sprayed at us! All of the coasters were awesome!  My favorite ride in the park was Project X — it was so much fun!  I really enjoyed going into the LEGO stores and trading minifigs with all of the Model Citizens.  We had an amazing time and cannot wait until we go back again.

Thanks again!!!

Welcome, Cameron and Faith!

Cameron and Faith Allen

Cameron and Faith Allen created this mummy and coffin out of LEGO bricks for last fall’s #BrickOrTreatContest.

Last fall, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort partnered with the HLN cable network’s “Morning Express with Robin Meade” to award an awesome family vacation based on the creative kid who built the most monstrous LEGO® model. The #BrickOrTreatContest drew hundreds of entries and because we’re #BuiltForKids we decided to give the Grand Prize to all three finalists.

In January, the Stuchell family visited us from northern Michigan. This month, the Allen family arrives from central Michigan, where daytime temperatures are hovering in the 30s and 40s. (Meanwhile, it’s sunny and warm here in Florida, with temps in the high 70s and low 80s.)

We’re delighted to welcome 12-year-old Cameron and his 11-year-old sister, Faith, for their second trip here. Both are big LEGO fans and much has changed since their last visit. Here’s what Cameron had to say before leaving home:

My sister and I are hyped about our upcoming LEGOLAND vacation! Since we were there in 2013, I heard a lot of attractions were added. We are both huge LEGO fans!  We have a whole room in our house that we call our LEGO Room.

I can’t wait to experience “The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” — the attraction sounds really cool! My sister is very excited to see Heartlake City and the “Friends to the Rescue” show.

I will ask the Master Model Builder(s) about different techniques to make my LEGO city unique and how to make it look better. We can’t wait to go!

Cameron and Faith Allen

“We have a whole room in our house that we call our LEGO Room,” says Cameron, 12.

Everything was, well, awesome!

Sage Stuchell

LEGO fan Sage Stuchell, 10, was one of three Grand Prize winners of last fall’s #BrickOrTreatContest.

One of the many VIPs who joined us for the recent red carpet, world premiere of “The LEGO® Movie 4D A New Adventure” was 10-year-old Sage Stuchell of Petoskey, Mich., making his very first visit to a LEGOLAND® theme park. Sage was one of three lucky Grand Prize winners of the #BrickOrTreatContest we sponsored with HLN’s “Morning Express with Robin Meade” cable news show last fall.

During a whirlwind visit to LEGOLAND Florida Resort, Sage and his family — dad Stephen, mom Emily and 7-year-old sister Sienna — enjoyed the theme park, a private session with our Master Model Builders, accommodations in our brand-new LEGOLAND Hotel and an invitation to be our special guests for the world premiere of the new attraction.

The Stuchell Family

Sage and his family: dad Stephen, mom Emily and 7-year-old sister Sienna.

The Stuchell Family

Sage and his family attended the world premiere of “The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure” alongside several kid celebrities and social media stars.

How was it? Here’s what Sage had to say after returning home:

I liked LEGOLAND® very, very much.

I could tell the first night we stepped out of the car at the hotel it was the best hotel I’ve ever been to. There was a huge LEGO® clock and a dragon all made out of LEGO. Behind the front desk was a whole wall full of minifigures and a big pit of LEGO to build in the middle of the lobby.

Sage Stuchell

Sage and his sister enjoy the “LEGO loot” from the treasure chest in their LEGOLAND Hotel room.

Then we went into the elevator. What? A disco party! We got one of Brickbeard’s pirate rooms and I thought the LEGO builds on the walls were very cool. There was a LEGO lizard, spider, cannonball, parrot, mouse and pirate artifacts. We decoded a lock and opened a treasure chest full of LEGO loot.

When I saw the LEGOLAND theme park I thought it was the most amazing place I’ve ever seen!  All the rides were awesome! My favorites were The Dragon and Coastersaurus, because they are very high and I like to be up high. There is even an Island in the Sky.

I thought Miniland was going to be smaller but it was huge! So much to see. The Star Wars battle of Geonosis was super realistic. The Darth Vader, Darth Maul and R2-D2 were life-size and very accurately built. I was very impressed!

Sage Stuchell

Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner, center, poses with Sage and his sister.

We watched Brickbeard’s water ski show and ate Granny’s Apple Fries in the Florida sunshine. My sister loved Heartlake City and Mia’s Riding Adventure. We even got our LEGO driver’s license.

The “LEGO Movie™ 4D” premiere was my FAVORITE! There were so many awesome treats like cookies and cupcakes! I saw many of the Nickelodeon and Disney stars I see on TV every day. It made me feel very special to be part of the red carpet event.

During the movie, I loved the all “4D” effects, especially when the lemonade stand squirted us! It felt like I could touch everything, and LEGO were right in my face. I loved meeting all the LEGO characters, even Lord Risky.

I couldn’t believe all the bricks in the LEGO Master Model Builders’ workshop. It was cool to see where and how Master Model Builders work. All the hard work the designers do makes it fun to put together these amazing LEGO sets.

It’s gonna be awesome!

A while back, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort partnered with the HLN cable network’s popular talk show, “Morning Express with Robin Meade,” to sponsor a Grand Prize vacation for the family of a child who created the most impressive LEGO monster model. The #BrickOrTreatContest drew entries from all over the country, and in the end, we decided to give the Grand Prize to all three kid finalists.

One, 10-year-old Sage Stuchell of Petoskey, Mich., arrives with his family this week. Here’s what he had to say before leaving home, where today’s high temperature is a frosty 30 degrees:

I feel very excited to be going to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.  I’ve always loved building with LEGO® and wanted to go to LEGOLAND ever since I heard about it in the LEGO Club Magazine. I look forward to meeting Emmet and all the other characters that can be found in LEGOLAND. I can’t wait to meet a LEGO Master Model Builder in the hotel workshop. One question I will have to ask is, What is the best way to create a LEGO model from an idea?

The Dragon is one of the first rides I would like to ride — it sounds super fun. I think “The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” is going to be awesome. LEGO is the coolest toy.

Check back on our blog for a recap of Sage’s whirlwind visit, including his trip down the red carpet for tomorrow’s invitation-only world premiere of “The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” and a private tour of the model shop located inside our brand-new LEGOLAND Hotel.
