LEGOLAND® Water Park hiring lifeguards for Summer 2018

Excited for summertime? We are too! This year, we’re getting a head start looking for new Model Citizens to guard and operate your favorite LEGOLAND® Water Park attractions. Our lifeguards play a crucial part in making sure you and your family are safe and having a blast during your visit.

Don’t have a lifeguard certification? Not a problem! Our instructors will give you the training and certifications you need to become a professional rescuer at the place #BuiltForKids.

After completing a skilled swim test, all lifeguards at LEGOLAND Florida Resort are certified in CPR, first aid, lifeguard skills and water park skills through the American Red Cross training program. In addition, LEGOLAND lifeguards receive hours of specialized training to operate all our water park attractions.

The opportunities don’t stop there! Watch for more LEGOLAND Water Park positions opening in the upcoming weeks, such as our Guest Experience Hosts in Grounds. These Model Citizens take ownership of our park’s cleanliness and even double as slide attendants trained and certified in CPR and first aid by our instructors.

All these positions enjoy the many benefits and perks every LEGOLAND Model Citizen receives — this includes complimentary admission to many popular Central Florida attractions, including The Coca-Cola Orlando EyeMadame Tussauds Orlando, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium and many more.

Apply online to join us in making memories and keeping guests safe!

Model Citizens celebrate Earth Day with third annual street cleanup

Recently, a group of enthusiastic Model Citizens came together to clean roads leading to our favorite place, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort! To do our part in the Great American Cleanup, we organized our annual, voluntary cleanup, which collected more than 30 bags of loose trash scattered along Cypress Gardens Boulevard and Helena Road outside the resort in Winter Haven, Fla.

The Great American Cleanup is a nationwide initiative led by Keep America Beautiful that has taken place annually for more than three decades. For the past three years, LEGOLAND Florida Resort has joined the effort as part of Keep Polk County Beautiful. For us, it’s all about upholding one of our parent company’s core values — being a force for good.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s environmental efforts made awesome impacts in 2016!

Just last year, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort introduced brand-new recycling initiatives that made a huge difference in the amount of material we recycle and the energy we save. With the help of our very own Waste & Environmental team and Model Citizens, the resort was able to recycle more than 1 million pounds of material through our day-to-day operations!

Here’s some of the stuff we recycled in 2016:

  • 215,000 pounds of cardboard
  • 55,000 pounds of paper (that’s 468 trees!)
  • 39,000 pounds of steel
  • 25,000 pounds of plastic
  • 4,000 pounds of aluminum
  • 11,000 pounds of car tires
  • 16,000 pounds of LEGO® bricks (including bricks recycled from our Merlin Magic Making facility in nearby Lake Wales, Fla.) — that’s enough bricks to build at least 16 copies of our #BrickPony model, the life-size replica of the original Ford Mustang on display outside Ford Driving School!
  • 2,000 pounds of soft LEGO bricks that can be found floating in our Build-a-Raft River in LEGOLAND Water Park

Fun fact: In 2016, LEGOLAND Florida Resort saved enough energy by recycling cardboard, plastic, steel and aluminum to power the theme park’s Heartlake City area for two years!

Another fun fact: We’ve saved a huge amount of energy. In fact, we saved enough energy to power 21 homes for a whole year!

And our energy saving efforts don’t stop there — 2017 is already off to a great start with a new energy-saving initiative that’s going to “light up” the theme park in a whole new way!

Stay tuned to learn more!
