Search for spooky and sweet surprises at Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly

Guests can participate in two separate scavenger hunts for a chance to win a LEGO prize.

We’re on the lookout for little detectives to help us uncover secret messages during Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly, happening only at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.  Each weekend in October and on Halloween, guests can participate in two separate scavenger hunts.  To get started, head to the LEGO® Studio Store in Fun Town, pick up an entry form and let the adventure begin!

Sweet treats with letters come together to unveil a hidden message.

On the LEGO Sweet Treat Scavenger Hunt, near the Wells Fargo Fun Town Theater, kids can decode the mystery phrase by finding the lettered candy made out of LEGO bricks.

The fun continues in MINILAND USA on the LEGO Skeleton Scavenger Hunt, which will lead visitors on a haunted search.  During this activity, we need little ghouls and goblins to help us find the skeleton’s scattered bones to reveal the secret message.

When the submission form is complete, don’t forget to turn it in at the LEGO Studio Store for a chance to win a LEGO prize.  With just two Brick or Treat weekends left, now’s the perfect time to visit.  Best of all, everything is included with park admission!

Happy birthday… to us!

Five years ago today, LEGOLAND® Florida Resort welcomed guests to explore a 150-acre playground #BuiltForKids, a colorful wonderland of rides, shows and attractions inspired by the unlimited creative potential of LEGO® bricks.

Since then, millions of guests from around the world have enjoyed its many charms, from iconic attractions like The Dragon and Ford Driving School to dazzling shows like “Battle for Brickbeard’s Bounty” and “Friends to the Rescue” to popular events like Christmas Bricktacular and Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly, which continues this weekend.

It’s been a whirlwind five years, a busy period of growth and expansion that has included the debut of LEGOLAND Water Park (May 2012), LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland Model Display (November 2012), LEGO World of Chima™ (July 2013), DUPLO® Valley (May 2014), LEGOLAND Hotel (May 2015), Heartlake City (June 2015), and phased restorations of the historic Cypress Gardens, which celebrated its 80th anniversary earlier this year.

And even more fun is on the way!

Last March, we kicked off the largest period of expansion in the history of LEGOLAND Florida Resort, which includes LEGO NINJAGO® World, a whole new theme park land and an awesome attraction opening Jan. 12, 2017, and LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, which will more than double our on-site accommodations when its whimsically themed bungalows open in mid-2017.

Thanks to you, our fans, we’ve enjoyed five years of awesomeness — and we’re just getting started!

JUST ANNOUNCED: Become the ninja when LEGO® NINJAGO® World opens Jan. 12, 2017 at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

This morning, just one day before our fifth birthday, we announced the grand opening date for the next awesome experience coming to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort — a whole new theme park land where you become the ninja in your very own LEGO® NINJAGO® adventure!

Brother-and-sister ninjas Kai, left, and Nya, helped reveal the grand opening date for LEGO NINJAGO World with Adrian Jones, general manager of LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

Starting Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, kids can step into a magical, martial arts kingdom filled with excitement and adventure when LEGO NINJAGO World opens between the Coastersaurus roller coaster and the LEGO City area.

It’s an all-new expansion inspired by the popular LEGO building sets and the “LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu” TV show, a place where kids can sharpen their skills just like LEGO NINJAGO heroes Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane and Nya before facing the ultimate test on LEGO NINJAGO The Ride!

LEGOLAND Florida Resort TV’s Grace and Kade have exclusive details:

And if you thought that’s all we have in store, think again!

LEGO NINJAGO World also will feature daily meet-and-greet opportunities with sibling ninjas Kai and Nya, plus a giant new retail shop filled with LEGO NINJAGO building sets, toys, clothes, souvenirs and more.

A giant model of LEGO NINJAGO World made out of more than 40,000 LEGO bricks will be displayed soon inside The Big Shop at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

It’s all here at the place #BuiltForKids, and it all starts Jan. 12!

Well, unless you’re a LEGOLAND Annual Passholder, that is. Passholders will have an exclusive opportunity to be the first to visit LEGO NINJAGO World on Saturday, Jan. 7. We’ll share more details about how to participate in the weeks ahead.

The countdown starts now!

See what happens when #BrickPony growls!

#BrickPony, our life-size LEGO® replica of the “1964½” Ford Mustang V8 coupe, is now on permanent display outside the Ford Driving School attraction at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.

Before we brought her home to our theme park, we took #BrickPony to Orlando’s I-Drive 360 complex, home of The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye, to have a little fun with a few hidden cameras, some concealed speakers, several temporary sound effects and lots of unsuspecting visitors.

See what happened next:

The giant model was sponsored by Southern Ford Dealers and has working headlights, taillights and a few built-in sound effects, including the rumble of a real Mustang engine starting and revving!

Don’t miss the Vampyre Hearse and our creepy crawly fireworks during this weekend’s Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly

Brick fans had a blast helping us kick off the first weekend of Brick or Treat Presented by Shutterfly, the popular annual Halloween party here at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort.  Here are some insider tips for first-timers and regulars alike as we head into weekend No. 2:

Vampyre Hearse

The Vampyre Hearse is a must-stop selfie spot. Check out its new surprises during Brick or Treat!

Last year, we unveiled a 13-foot-long “Vampyre Hearse” created with more than 280,000 LEGO® and DUPLO® bricks.  This year, the hot-rod hearse is back with a couple of new tricks outside the Market Restaurant.  For the first time, the giant model will come alive with spooky sounds, flashing lights and bursts of fog. It’s one photo opportunity you don’t want to miss.

Cap off the night at 8 p.m. as you sit back and cast your eyes skyward for a spectacular, brick-tacular fireworks display over Lake Eloise set to a creepy crawly spider theme.  These are no ordinary fireworks — they light up the night with a special LEGO twist!  Be sure to pick up a free pair of special viewing glasses starting at 7 p.m. in Pirates’ Cove.

RESCHEDULED: Firefighter Fridays begin Oct. 14 with fun activities and fire-safety tips from local heroes

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are hosting a month full of fire prevention awareness starting Friday, Oct. 14 with fun, educational activities for guests — all included with park admission! This event was rescheduled from Oct. 7 due to expected inclement weather.

The special event is part of NFPA’s annual observation of Fire Prevention Week, a tradition started in 1925 with a proclamation by then-President Calvin Coolidge.

On Oct. 14, a free activity passport gives kids access to exclusive fire prevention activities in LEGO® City. Pick one up at the park entrance and collect stamps by completing the obstacle course and every other activity for a chance to win some sizzling-hot prizes!

Plus, kids will have the chance to meet real-life firefighters and try on their uniforms for a perfect photo opportunity!

Join the fun again on Oct. 21 and 28 for Firefighter Fridays, when local firefighters will be at the theme park giving away special firefighter hats, helping kids build a special LEGO mural and sharing fire prevention tips!

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Don’t Wait – Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years,” represents the final year of NFPA’s three-year effort to educate the public about basic but essential elements of smoke alarm safety.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort’s #BrickPony parks for the last time

On Oct. 1, more than 100 special guests welcomed #BrickPony to her permanent home outside Ford Driving School at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort with the help of a few friends representing Make-A-Wish® Central and Northern Florida and Merlin’s Magic Wand.

#BrickPony is a life-size replica of the Ford Mustang V8 coupe introduced in April 1964, made with nearly 200,000 LEGO® and DUPLO® bricks.

After traveling more than 3,100 miles through 13 states, our life-size LEGO® replica of the “1964½” Ford Mustang V8 coupe finally came home to the place #BuiltForKids, where a special celebration took place featuring two visitors straight from 1964 — Gabby and Tommy.

Representatives from Ford Motor Co. and park sponsor Southern Ford Dealers were on hand to commemorate the occasion, which ended when three special kids named Hunter, Zyon and Xander helped Gabby, Tommy and dozens of other children pull apart two large panels to reveal the giant LEGO model.

Here’s how it went down:

#BrickPony’s engine roared as guests snapped pictures and videos of the theme park’s dazzling new addition, which has been chronicled around the world since it debuted early last month at a special gathering of Mustang owners and fans.

Special thanks are due to Southern Ford Dealers, one of our oldest and most supportive sponsors, for making the entire project possible. And if you’re wondering about the LEGO Ford Explorer that was on display in the same spot for nearly five years, don’t worry! After giving the 380,000-brick model a little bit of TLC, Southern Ford Dealers is making plans to give it a permanent home at an awesome new location we hope to announce soon.

Gabby & Tommy

“Gabby,” left, and “Tommy” came all the way from 1964 to celebrate the homecoming of #BrickPony, which is now on permanent display at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.

Come back to our blog Sunday, Oct. 9 to see what happened recently when we captured dozens of  unsuspecting Orlando visitors reacting to some temporary #BrickPony sound effects on hidden cameras!
