Trick-Or-Treating Tips from Buddy’s Brick Bunch

We’re surrounded by spooky ghosts, crafty witches, and haunted mansions this week with Halloween just around the corner! So, grab your finest costumes and get your biggest bags ready, it’s time to Trick-Or-Treat! No matter your age, October 31st is always a great time to dress up. Whether you’re dressing up as a werewolf, vampire, or even your favorite LEGO Character, Halloween will bring a night full of candy and excitement.

Brick or Treat Trail with Buddy

Here at LEGOLAND Florida  we are all about creating a safe, fun and memorable experience! With that in mind, we’ve asked Buddy’s Brick Bunch to put together some safety tips to make sure your Halloween night is nothing short of some spooky family fun!

  1. When trick-or-treating, stay with your group. Always stay close to your parents & friends and use the buddy system.
  2. Make sure your costume is safe as well. Be sure you are able to see out of it and your costume won’t cause you to trip.
  3. Be sure you and your costume are visible to others by using Aiden’s tip to “put reflective tape on your costumes, bags, and carry around a flashlight or glow sticks.”
  4. Double check your candy! Jack suggested, “Have your parents check over your treats to make sure they are safe before eating them.”
  5. Trick-or-Treat in a safe neighborhood. Alek says, “Visit only houses where the lights are on or have Halloween decorations.”
  6. Always accept your candy outside each house. Juliana’s most important tip is to “Never go inside anyone’s house, even if they ask you to.”
  7. Safe alternatives for trick-or-treating include going  to local community center’s trunk-or-treat event or joining us at Brick-Or-Treat at LEGOLAND Florida over the weekend!

New DUPLO Valley Toddler Area Opening in 2014

LLF_DUPLOValleyEntranceConcept

When DUPLO® Valley opens in spring 2014, new attractions and significant renovations will make this toddler-dedicated space a favorite for our smallest guests! The area will include new farm-themed attractions, an air-conditioned indoor play area and a water play area, all geared to toddlers ages 2-5. DUPLO Valley will be the ideal place for parents to play and relax with young children.

One of the key attractions in the new area will be a DUPLO train, where toddlers can board on their own or with parents to explore countryside-themed scenery including farms, fishing holes and campgrounds. Just across the way, toddlers can jump on a mini-tractor and help the DUPLO farmers plow cornfields and find missing farm animals. To cool off after a busy day on the farm, toddlers can also splash and play in the new water play area, filled with water spouts and larger than life DUPLO farm animals on a soft play deck.

In addition to the new attractions, the existing DUPLO Barn will also be significantly renovated to include air-conditioning and additional play areas, as well as an updated toddler room where parents can relax while children build with DUPLO bricks. The Baby Care Center, presented by Winter Haven Hospital, will continue to provide all the amentieis to take care of young children. The area offers private nursing areas, rocking chairs, microwaves, bottle warmers, high chairs, changing stations and more. The Baby Care Center will remain open during construction to accommodate families.

During construction in the former DUPLO Village area, park guests with toddlers are encouraged to explore the other attractions for the entire family found throughout the park. A full list of these toddler-friendly attractions can be found at www.legoland.com/toddlers.
